Biden’s decision follows significant criticism, including from Democrats, after pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, for tax-related offenses. Hunter Biden’s pardon, covering offenses from 2016 to 2019, also drew criticism for its timing and political implications, despite no evidence of selective prosecution.
