Why it’s not a good idea to buy a rotisserie chicken from Walmart
If you want to get another rotisserie chicken from Walmart, you might want to think again. If the item is on sale, the low price may make you want to buy it, but for $4.98, you will only get 1.13 pounds of chicken, which is less than 2 pounds.
You can get a bigger bird at Sam’s Club or Costco for the same price, so why settle for less?
Even though Walmart owns Sam’s Club, the goods are not the same. The rotisserie chicken at Costco weighs the same amount as a bird from Sam’s, which is 3 pounds.
Not only is size important, but flavor is also very important. On Walmart’s product page, reviews are hit or miss, with complaints about chicken that is either too cooked or not cooked enough.
Costco, on the other hand, always comes out on top in taste tests. The most juicy and flavorful rotisserie chicken is at Costco. The least juicy and flavorful is at Walmart.
Someone on Reddit said, “Every day of the week, Sam’s rotisserie chickens beat Costco’s rotisserie chickens.”
But Walmart does have an advantage in one area: the amount of sodium they sell. Walmart’s rotisserie chicken has 690 mg of sodium per 3-ounce serving, which is a little more than Sam’s Club’s 550 mg and Costco’s 460 mg.
Whole Foods has rotisserie chicken that is lower in sodium. Each quarter of a bird has only 280 mg of sodium, so it’s a good choice for people who are watching how much sodium they eat.
